Hi guys
Im new on this forum so I will introduce myself first. Im 21y old student with advanced KC. Wearing lenses without any problem for long time. But as KC precoded, vision on my "worse" eye become really bad. Now Im in situation in which Im considering intacts and cxl (i didnt have cxl before). With that, doctor said that vision on that eye will be good again.
But doing research on the web, I found information about keraflex. Its sound interesting to me, mainly because it has flattering effect which is what I need Prices seems +- same for these procedures. Other alternatives are not suitable for me, because my cornea is to thin (385um)

So I want to ask about any experiences with keraflex. They are some people here, who had undertaken keraflex about half year ago.
Please can you share your experiences and results? It would help a lot of people, i think

Does anybody know further practicions using Avedro´s Keraflex?? Only these three?

Some short term results. Very promising. (of course 6 months follow up is nothing. But still... )

Thanks Chris. I'm trying to get feedback on this procedure ad what patients think of it. I've only done a few cases but the results have been remarkable...one patient had 20/400 and now 20/20 without aids. Clearly not for everyone though!

It seams that it has a great impact on vision if that statement is true. But on the other hand, its weird that no of that few already mentioned reports talks about vision.

It sounds like a very promising procedure at this stage. However, I wouldn't want to hand over a lot of money for something that can revert back to what it was within 10 years.

What's the minimum of corneal thickness for this procedure?

I don,t know for sure what the minimum of corneal thickness for this procedure
but according to sites it should be above 400 microns (midperipheral thickness < 400 microns)

Just a bit of info to add my part, firstly some great info is coming in, keep it coming guys.
Right then my findings-

20-20vision in manchester, aka face and eye clinic are charging £2750 for keraflex, then £2100 for CXL after that each eye, after consulations etc id expect the costs to be around £10k with them. Also another thing to note is (this is not bad publicity for them, just my experience) i emailed them with a few questions, regarding recovery times, on average how long doeas patients need time off work etc, got a very vague answer from them, and in general didnt seem that helpful. Sounded like just wanted to get me in for a consultation which is £210?? iirc for the forst one, thereafter £175. I asked a question for them to tell me how many kerafelx procedures he has done and how long he has done them for and seemed like he didnt want to answer it.

On the other hand, the wellington eye clinic in NI, asked them many questions over email and seemed extremely helpful, plus the price was half of what 20-20 vision charges......

Just my 2p worth, it may ormay not mean something to the people.

Oh and i have written this post without my RGP's in, so cannot see clearly atall lol, excuse the mistakes which may have occured in my spelling and writing as i cannot even the see the screen clearly, just about managing by squinting haha.
