I think the reason is that the part of the eye recieving oksygen via blood wessels are seen as the critical ones in an eventual rejection of the donor cornea. Well, I really know too little about this.
As for the olympics, I have never heard of any Scot participating, with steroids or without. Looking forward to seeing you on TV Andrew:)
