Geraldine,

On the issue of dirty lenses, my post 'Keeping a diary can be really useful' may be of help.

Last year there were several post gegarding lenses going milky and being coverd i some cases by a kind of goo. From my research and the conformation I got from the hospital today when we discussed it further, it may be one of the tear components sticking to the lens and making it dirty.

If this is the case, you may have to use the lens cleaner a couple of times. The muck may be too thick to be removed in one go, so a clean and rinse repeatedly might help. It may well be worth experimenting with many of the ey drops to find which help. They all mimic one part of the natural tears in one form, but none of them mimic the full tear composition despite the label claims.

I just sufferd poor lens tolerance and vision despite a clean lens. It has taken six months to get to the conclusion mentioned in the above post.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Gareth

Geraldine

Are you any further forward with this? If you can't bring yourself to make the exaggerated blinks that I suggested (and you give good reasons for not wanting to try this), then how about routinely closing your eye, say once every five minutes, to see how that goes?

Gareth's advice is very good. If I had thought of it, I'd have suggested that, too
