Pauline, when patients are diagnosed with KC they often get the impression that they MUST wear their lenses all the time to stop the condition getting worse.You probably realise by now that this is not the case.In actual fact some people with early cones never progress and live entirely normal lives wearing glasses throughout their entire lives. The majority do what you've been doing provided their lenses are comfortable enough as they dont have much choice.Patients obviously need to take their practitioners' advice as it depends on the lens type,stage of KC,personal variations, etc.
