Hi
Thank you so much for this information, I have an appointment at Accuvison on 29th Aug for crosslinking, I too was very impressed with Accuvision's srevice, (most indepth and accurate eye test I've ever had!) I've been told that I can have some lazer treatment at the same time as the crosslinking to help improve my vison. I am still toying with the thought of this at lazer correction is what got me into this situation in the first place! anyone had lazer done at the same time as crosslinking and can offer any experience.
I too am having to have this treatment privately as the NHS will not cover the costs, I have private medical insurance and I am fighting with them to coverthe costs, they currently state that they will not cover it as the treatment is experimental! same old story with private medical I guess??

I am afraid I can 't answer your question about the cost of CXL, but I just wanted to welcome you to the forum. All the best

Re: C3R Cross Linking
Hello,
Thought I'd update this thread (I posted in it a couple of months ago) with my recent experiences. Last week I went for CXL at the Military Hospital in Prague; the staff were very professional and I have a lot of confidence in the doctor there (the doctors speak English well, which helps). I had the procedure done in a bit more than an hour, from when I first went in to when I left. Antibiotic and anaesthetic drops were followed by a move to a clean-room (facemasks and gowns all round), where I had the procedure done (riboflavin drops every 3 minutes, with a UV lamp over my eye to look into). The process was only slightly uncomfortable, mostly due to my own restlessness at lying still for so long. Following that, I was given three sets of drops: one to have 5x per day for 4 days, then another for 3x per day for 2 weeks following the first 4 days, and another general one (Refresh) to keep my eyes moist.
Following the procedure my eye felt a little tender that day, but no pain or major discomfort. I could barely notice anything unusual the following day, when I had a 10-minute follow-up check with the doctor.
I have my right eye done tomorrow.
Next, we will have some check-ups at widening intervals (1 month, then 2 months later, then 3 months later, etc.) to monitor the progress.
Best wishes,
Richard
