Hi, It could be a food intolerance.
I was, or I am lucky. I suffered with dry eye for 4 years and it got progressively worse. By chance I gave up my favourite breakfast food. Months later I inadvertently tested my diagnosis by buying my no longer favourite biscuits, not once but twice. I got the warning sign within 30 minutes. I tell this all the eye people that I meet. Not one of them wants to know.
Best of luck.

Hi John. Thanks for the post. Sounds interesting. Did you get tested for a food allergy? I'll do some research. Thanks again, given me something to think about.

Hi L, It didn't feel like an allergy. I have some of those, they make my temperature rise and I become more sensitive. As a child I had an allergy test, It didn't help.
May I suggest:
That how we handle a food changes over the years.
That the culprit can be the food that we really enjoy.
Don't go mad, but just drop a favourite food for a week. You'll know after a few days.
But for the NHS and modern medicine I would be blind.
I apologise for over using the 'I' key. t seems to be wearing out.
You can discard the rest of this post.

I was 50 and looking for a cure for lethargy. I stopped the porridge oats and my eye stopped weeping (that's usually spelt with a 'P'). Then I stopped the wheat and the head pain trimmed with neuralgia stopped. Weeks later I realised that I had stopped rubbing my eyes. They had been terribly itchy from childhood, well nothing would stop me rubbing. Now, at 65 I am still tired, but I can manage enough bread for at least a bacon butty a day.
