Yep, thats good old monovision Anne. The only drawback with that is you don't have good depth perception and as you say, intermediate viewing is not that good.

Its strange you know, we wouldn't really dream of giving monovision in glasses but we do in contacts because its often easier (and cheaper!) than fitting multifocal contacts.

Hi All,

I;ve been doing some reseach work/fitting of a new GP bifocal lens. It;s too soon to say, or rather i'd rather not say, at the moment, how good they are but suffice to say that for a GP lens (for those optoms out there it;s a translating design) it's looking good so far....and it can be made in a number of back surfgace designs so all you KC pts will be able to wear it...
