Hi Paul
Really glad to hear you have had some positive news, makes things seem a whole lot more managable I expect.
We have something in common with our father's - mine too rubs his eyes almost constantly and especially so first thing in the morning. However at 78 he still has good vision and has seemed to have had a trouble free 'eye' experience during his life.
Makes you wonder if the eye rubbing is a cause of the KC or a symptom to relieve it.
Hope all continues to go well for you.
Susan

Hi Susan
Yep...my Dad is in his 70's too, rubs his eyes terribly and has excellent sight.
I mean he uses glasses, but not often but at his age fair play. I mean I am delighted for him really, but yes, it makes you wonder.

Had my check up today and I will be a regular at the hospita for the next three months!!!
Relativly succesfull as the left eye is unchanged and has stabalised since it racted to the lenses in June.
Right eye has stabalised, well no change in past couple of months so can now have a new lens fitted. One snag is the people wo made the nens did not put the dot on they were supposed to making it harder to measure how the eye has changed. Not easy for me to explain. Go back in about a month for a new lens fitting with the back portion of the lens as it is now to correct most the KC and the front with the extra lens correction. Hopefully this will have the dot on, so if the fit is not so good, the change in dot orientation will give a guide as to how the back will need to be changed. Will not be able to take this lens away as a non-breathable material will be used. It is a cheap way of trying to get the best fit before going for the full blown corneal lens.
Quite happy only lost 4 lines in 3 months compared to last year where I lost all the lines in the same period for the GP to tell me is was work related stress and I would be fine after a holiday racing a classic car round the most dangerous circuits in Europe!!!
My car is also in a Classic Ford magazine again as one of the top 100 featured cars as choosen by the people who print the magazine. One thought is was No1, someone else No6, but hey somene enjoys my car as much as I do so new found incentive to get they eyes sorted over winter ready for the next classic car show season.
Keep smiling all
