I had my sutures removed in the OR, and a cataract corrected under local anesthetic. I was also worried about these same things, but in the event there was no need to fret.
I agree, though, that a visit to your GP might help you get from here to there without too much anxiety.
All the best

Re: Back to the operating table
I believe i will be sedated anyway although the consultant hasn't replied to my email yet which I sent him asking couple of questions.
Going to see my GP next week so will discuss the anxiety with them and see what they say.

Re: Back to the operating table
I too hope that all went well. The amniotic membrane graft, although a bit gory on youtube, is a dead easy operation from a technical point of view. At least, that's what the docs told me.
Five weeks ago, I had a pytergoid removed with an amniotic membrane graft (to help healing and prevent pterygoid recurrence). Unfortunately, the cortisone drops prescribed slowed down or, I should say, stopped the healing process. It is only within the last week, having stopped the cortisone drops, that I feel the eye is doing better.
I do hope you heal faster than me. Best wishes.

Re: Back to the operating table
So far taken nearly a year to heal which is why having to put the membrane in. I have started a new topic called - Round 2....done. This tells about the operation. Not sure how to link the 2 topics together (maybe I should have just continued it) Not the best at forums, apologies.
