Hmmm, I seem to recall from things posted on this form efore that you are far fromt he irst person here to be mourning the retirement of Keith Nelson.
ANd if cost and time were no issue, that would be me too, I'm sure, as I'd have been commuting back to Render Layfield to sort my lenses out for many years....
I don't have an answer - other than to think there must be someone in the area who does sclerals and doesn't have the Wrexham bureaucracy to cope with. Unfortunately, NHS "system" slowness and impenetrability can be amazingly cloying at times. It is the difference between the private practice clinic, maybe sbcontracted to provide NHS services, and the in-hospital clinic. There's no cmpetition at all as to which I'd prefer!
On finances - and maybe you've done this already - is there anything like a SOciety of the Blind or Association of disabled people near where you live, that you could ask for advice, or even who might know of charitable funds that might have grants (or even loans) to apply for? - or are you a member of anyting like a professional association that might have such a thing?
- it occurred to me that it is the sort of thing the trade union hardship funds were for.... though being self-employed you're probably not a union member.
Continue wishes of loadsa good luck, nayway.

Hi again.
Gotta be something beter, surely - I agree. And hope so, indeed.
Good luck - hope St Paul's can come up with what you need.
