Thanks for the extra suggestions - we have a huge make up mirror and tiny torches so he can check the lens his self etc.
Although after the "stinging" and tears of this weekend I doubt I'm going to get it in again for a while!
I have kicked up a bit of a stink with the hospital today and managed to get an appointment tomorrow with the lens lady, although I have told them I want to see the consultant again as well.
I intend to spend this evening puting together as much informtaion as I can and a list of the questions I need to ask.
I'm seriouly wondering if we are pushing him too much - he has finally agreed to wear his glasses for reading, tv etc which is progress. As far as I can tell the sight problems are mainly in his left eye and don't seem to bother him as much as it would me. As the lens has not yet improved his sight he has no icentive to keep trying. Even good ole blackmail has failed!!
I'll let you know how we get on.
Thanks
Dawn x

Re: Getting 12year old to put contact in
Remember to take a pad and pen to take notes.
It is good to have someone in the appointment with the patient, that way when you leave you have a point of refrence and never have to try and remeber everything.
Not so easy when you are an adult and have to fend for yourself.
Remind your son how lucky he is to have someone to take notes for him

I not only take notes at the time of my appointment. I write down all the questions I want to ask, and tick them off as they are answered.

Yes, me too. I think my new consultant and her team must get that sinking feeling when I arrive onthe scene with my pad and pen at the ready!
