Hi Piper!
I would like to ask - did the optometrist show you what vision would be like with spectacles? If you can only get a couple hours wear out of lenses, then you need something else, even if it is not as good as we would all like. Something is better than nothing, especially if you are left partially sighted on lens removal. And really, you do need some glasses so you can give your eyes a break from lenses. It is hard to advise properly here, as I do not know what vision you would get with glasses but I have seen many patients who have previously been told that glasses are "not possible" because of high residual astigmatism etc but who have gone on to wear them successfully. You sometimes have to start off with underpowered glasses and work your way up to the full one. On the other hand, the optometrist may mean that you simply can't get any improvement at all in spectacles.
If you don't adapt to the right lens, then you need to go back and see if there is another option available to you.

I am so sorry that you go on having these problems. Is it possible that a different type of lens would be better? I know that I am spoilt here in the Glasgow area as we have a fantastic contact lens clinic in the hospital I attend where the specialists are always right up to date on all the available lenses for people with KC, both pre and post graft.
All the best, and every blessing for the new year.
