I frequently get 4-month prescription prepayment cards.
You can fix on eup pretty quickly on the phone with a credit card (or debit card, I think..)
They will then give you the serial number of the card that you've just bought and is now in the post.
I've several times done this when I've come home from the doctor's or dentist's with yet another prescription, then gone round to the pharmacist with the serial number and said I've bought the card, here's the number it's in the post.
My local pharmacy has always been quite happy to accept that - they just get me to write down the number on the back of the form and sign it.
i hope and trust your local pharmacy are similarly sensible, so you could do the same if/when you get a response from your practitioner that means a card would be worthwhile.
