I found it helpful to let my wife do the driving! I'm not being 'flip' about this, we shared the driving on long journeys so that I could get my lenses out and really flood my eyes with artificial tears.
That, of course, did not mean that the French or Germans or Italians or any other sundry continental nations suddenly started driving on the left, but that is a whole other story!
