I had an appointment last week at moorfields and my optometrists told me the lenses are the correct fit and also went to my gp and she gave me allergy drops to see if that would help and even then my eyes would still go red. I clean my contacts properly with the saline solution, I even use it to wash out anything where I put me lenses in. I've got another appointment in February but I told my optometrists on Thursday and today about this problem and he didn't seem know what's causing the problem or give any solution that would help the redness , even today I've been wearing my contacts for an hour and they've already made my eye go red. I don't know what to do, sometime I don't want to wear my contacts but at the same time I have to cause my keratoconus is pretty bad and the contacts are the only things that give me perfect vision.

Hi Ayoub1,

I'm slightly confused by you post - you said that you'd had an appointment at the hospital last week but had spoken to the optometrists yesterday. Are you getting your current lenses from the hospital or from the High Street?

Although the optometrists didn't seem to know what was causing the redness from what you have said they seem to be happy for you to continue to wear your lenses. And as you have another appointment in February they will be able to check your lenses again.

It is difficult to know what to do sometimes when you need lenses to see but they aren't as comfortable as they should be. Do you have any back up glasses that you can wear when you don't need to see so clearly? This would help to give you eyes a rest.

Lia
