I too have woken up rubbing my eye which i agree is extremly painful but once you have think you are more aware, not something you would want to repeat!

My vision did not show any improvement at my two month check but having just had my 4 month check i had slightly better news of the Intact working and i can see a little better - by all means its not a massive improvement but i am hoping it will make wearing contacts a little easier.

I have really bad trouble with light sensitivity and when looking at a light i do have bad halo effects has anybody else got this? and any ideas if it will go away or fade in the future?

I have light sensitivity as well and my consultant said today that it should fade slightly as time goes on but as I get used to it I probably wont notice it as much.

Louise

Do you mean how much did it cost?

It was cheaper to have both eyes on together. To have them done at different times it was £2000 per eye but you get discount for a job lot!!

It is so that I do not rub my eyes while asleep, or immediately on waking, that I wear an eye shield at night.

Hi Vicky

My local boots sell eye shields. They should do the job for you.

Way to go vicky!

there used to be only two hospitals in the Uk that did Intacs on the NHS: newcastle and St thomas in London.

Things are getting better all the time

I'm feeling really positive about things now. For the first time in months I cansee light at the end of the tunnel. Left eye still not doing much and my right eye gets tired and gives me headaches if I do too much but apart from that things are looking good (pardon the pun).
