Asif...

Gareth talks a lot of sense here. If you have a limited tolerance to a tighter fit, then wearing 8 - 10 hours solid will cause problems. Sometimes this is helped by giving the lenses a break in the middle of the day - but sometimes that will simply cause more discomfort due to the inherent disturbance of inserting and removing lenses. Before you finally abandon the lenses you find best, try modifying the wear times in as many different combinations you can. Remember, pinhole specs can tide you over lensless periods!

Scerals extend over the sclera (hence the name!) so do not move around in the same way as softs, RGP's etc... thus they can give better comfort. However, if you have tolerance problems anyway, there is no guarantee you will get longer wear time. You won't really know unless you try!

Knight may desribe himself as the "blind artist" (see his sig icon), but Asif the Keratoconic Optometrist! That ought to earn you some brownie points with all the KC people who will beat a track to your door looking for that perfect fit!

Take care. Give your eyes time to rest.
