He He glad you liked it, got to do yesterday and today soon,

I stuck a pad under my eye to stop the water getting into my mouth and my stomach feels better for it so I guess it must be that that's affecting my guts. I put a drop of the Atropine in just now and it seems to have stopped the watering a bit. I'll have a chat on Monday with the specialist about it and let you know what he says

I'm sure was was given this stuff in the Army with out NBC kit :)

atropine was the anti-nerve agent in the combo pens but more than 3 of them gave you atropine poisoning anyway. BRILLIANT. when did you get these extra drops dave? by the way i was a pti in the engineers from '89 - '95, but just a fat twat now. has your hobby fallen off yet? lol

squaddie humor - love it

Aggghhh no a PTI Runs away and hides. Ex REME me and then some other badge. I was given all them drops by the specialist after the operation. I notice other people mentioning 'Steroids' I take it there to come then, will my breasts grow big ?

As for my hobby, although I can't claim it as a proper hobby I can now claim its all part of a scientific research project. I'm off now to the University to see if I can get a grant, or some of them rubber gloves :)

Just back from holiday today, and noticed that two of our contributors have gone under the knife whilst I've been away. Best wishes to both of you, and I'm glad to hear that you're doing well.

I agree with Nawty that the Maxidex runs from the tear ducts to your throat - it really does taste vile, doesn't it!

Nawty, the standard way of posting photos to the forum is to upload them to your ISP's free web space, and to link to them using the "Img" button above. Alternatively, you can email them to me at john@roundel.net, and I'll put them up - there's bound to be great interest in them.

All the best,
John

well since I have put this padding under the eye to stop the tears running down my face the real bad pain has stopped so I guess that it was getting into my mouth when I was sleeping and coursing problems. I still have a tightness in my stomach though but nothing as bad as it was the other day. I'm sure it is the 1 every hour drops that course it though. I'm off the the clinic today so I'll have a word with Mr Shan about it and report back.

well spoke the Mr Shan today and it seems there are 3 capillaries making their way towards the transplant and that's not good, so they've wacked me on steroids to try and stop it. 'Prednisolone'.

Had the choice between going back into hospital for the day and having it done on a drip or by tablets. So it's tablet time now.

Also asked about why I'm getting a bad stomach he thinks its probably the antibiotic drops Chloramphenicol that's doing that, as there is no sign of infection or anything else wrong he has told me to stop them now.

Also been given Exocin (ofloxacin 0.3%) drops now as well.

Dave,

Maxidex and Prednisone drops are both Steroids. I'm not sure what the difference is between them, but it looks like Maxidex is more commonly used in the UK, and Pred. in the US.

I know that Maxidex can have side effects (it caused high eye pressure for me after a month or so of use, so I was switched to FML).

Hope things continue to improve.

John.

Think I've just scared myself. I read the leaflet that came with the tablets and they seem to have some wild possable side affects, not to sure I want to take them but I have to.

Got to take 40m a day that's 8 tablets, in two batches of four, I have stomach problems as it is and they say to avoid them if you have problems in that area.

Oh well I'll find out tomorrow when I start them .

Well almost a year latter and all is not so good :( I might have to go to another hospital and have the lens changed in my eye. The astigmatism is -6 now and they can't get glasses to work :(

But there not sure my eye could take the operation. catch 22 again.
