Fitting contact lenses for KC - can you help?

Postby Anne Klepacz » Sun 07 Apr 2024 1:38 pm

Do you live within striking distance of Telford? Could you help teach the next generation of optometrists contact lens fitting skills for KC?
Volunteer KC patients are needed for workshops being held at this year's Optometry Today and British Contact Lens Association conference on Sunday 28th April at the International Conference Centre in Telford. Ideally you'll be a rigid corneal contact lens wearer and be happy to be assessed in your own lenses and to try different lens designs for demonstration purposes. The workshops are led by highly experienced optometrists specialising in KC. Volunteers are needed from 8.30 am until 11.30 am and will then be provided with a light lunch and a chance to visit the exhibition area. You will receive a £50 fee and reimbursement of travel expenses. The workshop organisers are looking for 4 volunteers. This is a great chance to inspire more optometrists to tackle the challenge of KC fitting and for you to see what lens options might be available to you.
