Hard Contact lens shortage

Anybody noticing a shortage of hard contact lens solution in high street stores and supermarkets? Shelves empty in my local Boots and Sainsburys in which I until now had no issues buying from also Boston and Total Care seems to now not be stocked by Sainsburys.

I guess you mean shortage of the solutions (not lenses). The shelves are empty because there has been a recall of many solutions. Do read the two threads about the Bausch and Lomb and other brands product recall just below this one. People have been suggesting alternative solutions to use, alternatively do check with your optometrist what they recommend.

Thanks Anne, never really got on with Boston so always used Total Care but since the recall I presume all 'other' products will be swamped

I’ve noticed this as well. I ordered online and that hadn’t arrived earlier so I guess they are swamped with orders. No idea what to do if this doesn’t resolve soon as contacts are not optional for kerataconus patients.

So has total care amo supplies returned ?

If that's the same as Blink Total Care then that is now available on Amazon and should be coming back to the shops. Other solutions are also now available, so it's just a question of the products reaching the shelves. There is apparently still a delay on Boston Advanced Cleaner which should be available by the end of next week (!st week in November) although you should be able to get it in flight packs.
