Why do sclerals feel ok in one eye but aggravate the other??
Finally got sclerals that give me fantastic vision, and I feel confident to drive again, bu, although the left eye is fine the right seems not to like them...every so often without warning, it feels like I have a large lump of grit in the right eye and it starts watering and is extremely uncomfortable, there is also a sharp pain again, every so often and no warning. I put the lenses in ok and can wear them for a few hours before this happens and it isn't every day. Does anyone have any thoughts on what I might be doing wrong when I put them in? So far, I keep taking the lens out and inserting it again which often helps, though not always! Could it be related to working on a computer for a while? Help!

It could be dry eye symptoms, especially if you have been working on the computer as you will blink less when staring at a screen. I use Hylo forte when wearing sclerals.

Thanks, I have some Hylo Tears and use them, they help if my eyes feel dry and stingy, the problem with the right eye occurs without any reason, at any time, and drops don't help, I think I will talk to the contact lens specialist after the holidays.

Could you possibly have a crack or tear in the lens? Alternatively, you might have lightly scratched your eye. I've had a similar pain to your description (although, when wearing hybrids) and it has been for one of these reasons.

I think the lens is ok, no noticeable damage, I am very careful with them! Not sure about a scratch on my eye, that may be something to look into next time I see the specialist, thank you for the suggestions.

Re: Why do sclerals feel ok in one eye but aggravate the other??
My experience is that minor issues with discomfort settle if you leave the lens out for 24, preferably 48 hrs. Wear it for a short time, maybe half what you normally would and build the wearing time slowly again over a few days. If the discomfort returns it's time to return to your opthalmist. There are several things that could be an issue as we have speculated here.
