Madmish,
How about this as a suggestion, hypnotherapy!
If all else fails give alternative medicine ago. I have afear of pain killers as after being told they would not affect me I crashed the car in to the garage door many years ago. Just lost all ability to judge distance (nothing to do with KC). Had acupunture instead for my back problems and all is OK.
For me the initial putting the lens in the eye is a mild iritation. Pain for me is when my back goes. Then the pain is so great breathing is extremely difficult and when this happens I can actually taste the pain.
However in no way am I suggesting you cause your self sever back injury to make putting lenses in easier!
Touching the eye ball is interesting solution.
Out of cureousity, why the fobia of touching the eye? Putting something in I can understand.
Gareth

I have the same issues with my eyes...i cant let anyone get near them and i also cannot touch the eyeball?!
I was going to start Hypnotherapy as gareth rec a few weeks ago as i am truely a bad eye patient when it comes to putting lens in etc.....I am so bad that....for example......when I have fllourecin put in the eye and they take a look thrugh the flourcent light i will start tearing for no reason at all! even f the lens is fine fit!
My last port of call will be Hypnotherapy..which Ill start in abut a month....3 sessions I beleive.
So you are not alone here mate

KC is about facing the challenges it creates rather than accepting the problems it generates -

Hello again,
Have you tried thinking of something else when you are putting the lenses in?
I mean thinking of something calm and relaxing and avoiding having to try putting the lenses in when you haven't got much time or with an audience, even when they are well meaning I sometimes found it very off putting.
As others have said before and I also found, poking yourself in the eye and putting little pieces of plastic in them is by no means normal however, if it improves your vision and means that you can do things that without your vision corrected you can't it is well worth it.
Keep trying with putting the little horrors in and then you will be able to find out if the fit is correct and the prescription also ok.
DO persevere and remember practise makes perfect.
