Re: Meltdown at the Q.E. Ophthalmology Dept
Update: Official complaint sent last weekend. Had a call from QE this evening. They are currently bringing in Locum ops in the hope of rebooting the service. Apparently there was an unsuccessful attempt to get other hospitals to take current QE pts. Meantime no change, no lens, no appointment, possible disease progression and still awaiting hopeful external referral.

Re: Meltdown at the Q.E. Ophthalmology Dept
The good news is the Q.E. has now employed at least one locum and is actively booking clinic appointments again. Whether my complaint had anything to do with this I don't know but it's good news at last.
Bad news - Mr Beaver has sadly passed away. He was a fine and caring professional who looked after my keratoconus for many years, even once paying some of the fee for a lens when I couldn't afford it. He'll be sadly missed.

I have been very pleased with the treatment from both the consultant, Mr Barua, and the contact lens team at UHCW in Coventry. I guess not too far to travel from Birmingham...
