Re: advice work
Yes, tap water has lots of bugs including one that can be sight threatening, which is why those of us who wear contact lenses are told NEVER to rinse lenses with tap water. And even if you're wearing specs, I wouldn't risk it. But there are lots of artificial tear drops you can get over the counter at any chemist which would help. A bowl of water would probably help too. It's also important to take regular breaks from the screen. Staring at a screen means we're blinking much less than usual, so not producing our own tears. Add in the air conditioning in most work places and it's no wonder our eyes get dry!

I've posted about false tears a god send, I know this is a but of a no no around computers but try if allowed a vase of flowers or bowl of water on your desk, the idea being to add moisture into the environment.
Also depending on the size of the company you work for, it wouldn't be beyond the Disability At work Act to ask for screen filters and other such aids.
