Hi
Still experiencing dry eyes in the workplace and have done so for a few years .
Air con , heating eye make the eyes quite dry, using drops which help a little.
I notice around 3-4pm they start going red from the dryness.
Any help appreciated

Hi Kieran,
Which eye drops do you use? There's quite a variety these days so it might be worth experimenting to see if a different one might be more effective for you. Air con is a real pain for so many of us. Some people here have managed to get a small humidifier which can help. As can pot plants or even bowls of water on your desk - anything that will make the air a bit moister!

Keeping the body hydrated by drinking water certainly helps.
I was prescribed HyloTears drops by my hospital last year (they're only available on prescription). I put a drop in before inserting the lens in the morning and sometimes put additional drops in during the day. They do the trick for me, but we're all different so you may find something else works better for you. There's also the simple wetting drops that are available at any chemist such as Refresh Contacts or Blink Contacts. They didn't help me very much, but perhaps using them during the day as well as a gel at night might work for you. Other forum users may have other suggestions.

Kieran,
Don't forget to take regular breaks from your computer; it does make a difference if you can look up from the screen and gaze in distance. And don't forget to blink!
You may also find it helpful to ensure that you desk is not positioned under a downdraft from the aircon system.
One optometrist did suggest that I removed my lenses at lunch time to give my eyes a rest - which is not something I have done - but it might help.
