Hi guys how is everyone? New to the forum and was just looking for some advice/information from people who have karatoconus. How far along do you have to be to consider a transplant? My eyes are constantly sore and dry, when the weather is nice I cant do anything as my eyes are constantly streaming with the sun especially trying to drive this makes them really bad. I seem to be at my optician all the time who has changed fitting numerous times, changed material of lenses ect which only helps for 2/3 weeks then I am back to the sore eyes again. Just looking for some advice really as to how to cope a bit better.
Thanks very much
Elaine

Re: looking for information
Hello Elaine and welcome to the forum.
I wonder whether you have dry eye as well as keratoconus. If you do it may be that this could be managed to enable you to get comfortable use of contact lenses. I lubricate my eyes with Clinitas Soothe.
As to your question about transplant it is never the wrong time to consider all options. Your optometrist will advise on the possibility of contact lenses and your ophthalmogist will advise on surgical options
Every good wish.
