Ive had A sore eye since since I woke up yesterday morning, I took myself to a+e and got sent to the eye clinic where I was seen by a different consultant because mine wasn't there. He sed my stitches are causing me irritation and he gave me some systane. Today has been even worse it's been constant all day took systane and that doesn't seem to be working! Its been two months since my graft. He sed my stitches were intact and graft was clear I dnt know how much longer I can take with it it's everytime I blink its very sore!

Re: Sore eye
Hi Adam,
I think I'd be taking myself back to A&E if you're still in so much pain. The only time I had something similar, one of my stitches had snapped and the edge was hitting my eyelid each time I blinked - it was agony! If the stitches are intact, then all I can think is that there's something rough on one of the stitches that is catching your eyelid (don't know if that's possible?) I hope you can get it sorted.

Re: Sore eye
My consultant is there tomorrow so thinking of taking myself in so he can have a look, the only problem is I'm at work tomorrow and I had to leave last week to go into a+e because stitch had come loose so but worried what they will say because I only came back last week!

Re: Sore eye
It's hard, I know, but at this stage the priority is the health of your graft.
And you're not going to be much use at work if you're in constant pain! Hopefully your employer will be understanding.

Re: Sore eye
Hi Anne went back Thursday morning and saw the same doctor mine is on holiday! Said exactly the same thing my stitches are irritating me and making my eye lids sore, told him the systane drops are not working so gave me some celluvisc drops which have helped but still get some soreness at times but hopefully the drops will continue to work
