Hi there, well, after 5 month from the Keraflex procedure on my right eye, the "kone" goes up again, so resuming.

- Keraflex don't works
- Accelerated KXL don't stabilise the cornea
- I have a scar in the center of my pupil
- 5k pounds minus on my bank

After that I was using contact lenses ( kerasoft 3 ) in both eyes from ultravision, fitted from an optician from spain and with goods results. The are very cumfortable lenses and recommended to anyone with KC.

Now the fitter try the new lens Kerasoft IC to this right eye, and isn't possible to find a good sight for it...
So, now I have only my left eye for every day life...

hey guys, I did a keraflex 15 days ago in turkey with prof. yilmaz.
Im from Brazil and I want to know for people who did this procedure how many days to recovery the vision, because my vision is bad now.
I hadnt had a bad conus and my contacts gave me 100% but I was in turkey and decided to to the procedure (with accelerated CL),
tomorrow I will go to doctor check my vision and do a topography. in general my vision gets better, specially by day, but I cant read well just from very close.
I want to know if have a possibility to my vision recovery from the epitelium removed or not.
doctor said the results will appear in 1 month but im a little worry now.
I want to know if lynn or someone could me give a note or a light. rs.
I did a keraflex -4dp
my degree was about 7 my 3 ast both eyes, conus 52. 54
and iths true hurts a lot for about 3 days but is not dificult to support, but its boring to be at a hotel room at bed hearing tv.
iI want to write a big review about the surgery but now i cant write to much.

Hi Luciano,

I am assuming you have had KeraFlex with accelerated CXL? The vision will recover over the next few days from the effects of the epithelium removal but you can expect some fluctuation over the next few weeks.

The problem is, it is not possible to calculate recovery time from the prescription or corneal steepness. Each eye reacts in its own way and this is more related to the overall strength of the cornea than any measurements.

However, pain, sensitivity to light, blurriness etc should be much reduced in a couple of days time. It is really hard if you only have a hotel room to rely on, I know!
Do let me know if you have any more questions...

yes, exactly what i did.
good, I few better every day.
but i think the visionwas better before, could be the fluctuation effects :)
i read the experiences with keraflex and i dont know what expect.
the doctor told me my KC was very good for the operation and for good results (and he has some experience with keraflex)
but what kind of flutuation i need to expect, big or small::
do you think my short vision can get better or probabilly not.
i was expecting 0, 1 or 2 degrees after the surgery
but i think now cab be between 3 or 5 ( i guess)
did you treat any keraflex patient::
did thet use contact lenses after, what kind::
here in brazil we dont have many options for good contact lenses for KC (or its importes and expensives)
do you think after 1 month i can try cl again
i hope get better degrees after a month, lets see
after doctor tomorrow i will post again.

Yes it can appear to get worse before it gets better. How it fluctuates depends so much on the individual, it is hard to give good advice. Also, you have had 2 things done which cause fluctuation - the KeraFlex itself and the crosslinking.

I have worked with some patients who have had this done and you can sensibly get fitted with CLs when your cornea has some degree of stability, otherwise by the time you get lenses, your prescription has changed again. This can be a month or two after surgery.

Also, I have to say, some patients I have worked with have actually regressed again, in that the KeraFlex did not "work". To balance this though, many patients are rushing to get this done who are really very advanced or unstable, so that their regression is not a proper indication of how well the whole system works for less advanced patients.

For anyone thinking about having this done you MUST take into consideration post operative fluctuations and how you will manage afterwards. Please ask your surgery centres many questions about all of this BEFORE you go ahead with surgery. Even with just cross linking, some people go ahead without thinking this through.

Only your surgeon can give you the bets advice as we on the boards have no proper idea of the state of your eyes.

Hi Friends
04 month ago i try to do the surgery, you will never imagine what it's happen, during the surgery, the microwave energy doesn't work, the doctor ask me if i do the crosslinking only, i do'nt accept it so i comebacked at home. after that i remember all the sequence of my visit where doctor dont take more than 5 mn to explain me about keraflex,
when i see all those negative results, i say that god loves me, Dear Doctors over the world, we are human not animals, when you are not sure about results its best to say that it will not be ok,
if any body want to know where i try to do surgery and who is this doctor feel free to PM me.
Regards
