HI all
i've just been diagnosed as having KC.... after experiencing, what seemed like occasional, ghosting and blurred vision last year i was prescribed glasses that worked well, although R eye was still blurred with specs, and i wore when watching tv,driving etc....my prescription was R +1.25/-!.75 x 85
L +1.25/-1.75x 100
14 months on and i've just had my eyes tested again, due to increased blureed vision and my prescription is now...
R +2.75-4.25 x 87
L +1.75-300 x 95
my new glasses do definately make things clearer but i'm struggling to wear them due to feeling like i'm looking out of a goldfish bowl and also getting headaches, eye ache and slight nausea...... is this common when adjusting to a new prescription?
also should i now be referrred to teh hospital??? from what i've read on this forum, which has calmed me laods so thank you, i understand that i can see a lot better than most of you, but i'm still quite anxious about how quickly my sight seems to have deteriorated and also that it still seems to be intermittant, ie, sometimes i walk into town without glasses and can see ok and yet at other times i cant recognise friends walking past 2ft from me....
I'm sure i have many questions that i will get back you all with but for now...thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing from yous....
I guess i should add...I'm a 40 yr old male who's very atopic and has always been an habitual eye rubber, i have preety bad eczema and do a lot of damage in my sleep..
Thanks again
Darren

Welcome to the forum.
Yes, an ophthalmological referral would be a great help to you: it will get you into the system, entitle you to cur price contact lenses (if they become necessary) and enable them to monitor your condition.
All the best
