Corneal Transplant preparation

Postby Amarpreet » Mon 13 Jun 2011 3:35 pm

Hi :)

So I have my Full penetrative corneal transplant on my left eye Thursday. I will be given a General Anesthetic. I'm concerned about whether I should delay the surgery or not, as I have been told that a cold can interfere with the Anesthetic (my cold isn't that bad now). Can somebody please tell me how severe a "cold" has to be for them to delay the surgery?

Thank You
Amarpreet

Amarpreet

This is a decision that they will make, but if your cold is only a mild one, they will probably go ahead. The final decision rests with the anesthetist.
