Hi Sajeev,
Why should it be harder to use a contact lens when you are older? Unless physically disabled in the use of one's hands, I can't see why I shouldn't be using my lenses till the day I die. Even if disabled, someone else could be taught the scleral headlock to put them in! You have a very negative view of growing older.
Let me tell you life begins at 50!!!!!
Wishing you a long and healthy life,
Janet

Age makes no difference

Postby Hannah Pye » Thu 05 Aug 2004 4:23 pm

i am very surprised about Surjeev's suggestion that age makes a difference when putting in a contact lens. Janet you are right, one pair of hands, you feel around, head between your legs and away you go. You still have a brain you know when you are older. I am blind in my left eye, with very little sight in my right, I do wear a scleral lens, and make the most of what little i can see, like everyone else here.

...........so am I right in thinking........if someone gets older, they become more nimble and flexable (including there fingers).

Also, that it is more likely that there hands don't shake any more.....as they get older.

........and I think to myself what wonderful world........... :D ....as well!!!
Regards

Sajeev

...........how long is a piece of string...........

......and what's suprising........I thought I was stating the obvious.

.....but I do know what you mean...... I am worried about the people who will need extra help......and most importantly if they WILL get any EXTRA help.

Mini sclerals

Postby Alan » Wed 11 Aug 2004 5:46 pm

Hello,
my ophthalmologist is encountering endless problems with removing a big bubble
between the mini scleral lens and the cornea. Amongst many lenses
he made he tried to change the diameter height , base curve etc...
have you experienced this probe?
can anyone provide some professional assistance in this regard?
I can not use small diameter lens nor proper scleral lens.
other than this major issue the fitting is perfect and the tip of cornea does not touch the lens which was the major probe prior to the bubble issue.
thx ,
Alan
