Lynn,

What I don't understand is why major high street opticians don't specialise in offering patients Kerasoft IC lenses for example?

As full training in fitting such lenses can be given by the manufacturers, it would mean patients would have greater access to lenses which could possibly improve their standard of life greatly, without the feeling of having a condition no one seems to give a hoot about unless you go to a NHS Hospital, which in my case simply refuse to offer these lenses as an alternative for me even when I cant tolerate RGPs so I am basically left now to go blind or have a really c**p standard of living.

This has been ongoing now for a number of years and I am still no further forward.

I have glasses that don't do anything due to the prescription difference between my left eye (where KC is worse) and my right eye (which has it slightly but I still have fantastic vision through - as opticians advise they can only offer a lens to give me 20/20 vision in my right eye and its in effect plain glass in the left.

I then have had 2 trials of hard lenses, and both times simply can not tolerate them.
I get around an hours wear, and don't feel any benefit in my vision due to the fact my eyes r so sore, watery and unfocused with them in.

I am not nearly 30 and spent most of my adult life worrying about my vision.
And when I think that Kerasoft IC lenses may be a solution I cant find anyone who specialises in them anywhere near where I live.
