Lens Fitting

Postby Fordy » Thu 23 Sep 2010 2:16 pm

I am currently wearing a Jack Allen flexi edge lens in my left eye that gives me good vision but unfortunately the fit is too tight so my eye is really sore for a couple of days after wearing it, not ideal.(right Ok with toric lens)

My optom decided a while ago that he would order me a new one with a slightly looser fit, sounds easy I know, but eight lenses down the line they are still unable to supply me with a lens that fits either tight fitting or not so I am totally reliant on a lens that should have been changed 6 months ago, on the new lenses the soft skirt is contantly being lifted by my lower eye lid.

The reason given by the lens manufacturer is that these type of lenses are very difficult to replicate and every time they make one it is a one off.

We seem to be at a bit of a dead end because my RGP tollerence is no good and he wont try one of the new generation soft lenes (Kerasoft)

Any advice guys,

Cheers,

Fordy
