Had a proper follow-up appointment at the corneal clinic to my cxl carried out at Moorfields in May (first follow up was with a retina specialist, admin error!)
I was informed that CXL is no longer available on the NHS and that i had mine done just before this decision was made! I understand that long term results arent conclusive but surely this is also a financial issue?

No doubt. If true NICE will have something to do with it.

Re: CXL no longer available on NHS!?
Well, the guidelines on CXL issued by NICE last year haven't changed www.nice.org.uk/IPG320 and I can't find anything else on the NICE website to suggest that there's any new guidance. And I think there are one or two other hospitals in the UK that are doing CXL for a few patients on the NHS. So it would be interesting to know whether the Moorfields decision is based on clinical or financial considerations. Perhaps someone will tell us!
