Hello,
With next to no sight in my right eye, I finally bit the bullet and had a corneal graft back in the middle of April.
Everything seemed to be going as well as could be expected early doors. Last week however, the Doctor advised me that I had high eye pressure, 24. He advised me that this was a likely side effect of my anti rejection drops. I therefore had to reduce the dooseage of these drops from 4 times to once a day, while taking an anti-glaucoma drop twice a day.
Earlier this week, my eye was suffering from some discomfort so I returned to Eye Casualty yesterday as a precaution. I was expecting to hear that the discomfort was due to the reduction in the anti-rejection drops. I found out however, that my eye pressure has risen to 40, despite the preventative measures. I've now got new drops to take before returning to my Doctor on Monday.
Interested to hear if anyone else has experience such sharp rises in eye pressure post graft. And what complications can it cause for the graft?
Cheers

Re: Eye Pressure Post Graft
Hello Lobeydosser and welcome,
It is quite common for the anti-rejection drops (steroids) used post graft to cause a rise in eye pressure. It certainly happened to me, and I'm sure there are other people here who will have a similar story. In my case, as well as prescribing glaucoma drops, the consultant also changed the steroid drops I was on without reducing their frequency and within a few weeks the eye pressure was back to normal. I hope you'll find it's better news with yours when you go back on Monday.
All the best
Anne
