Eye pain first thing in the morning

Postby bunnykins » Wed 16 Jun 2010 9:38 pm

Hi,
I have worn RGP's for around the last 10 years and have only once had the lens fitting altered. I am starting to experience pain when I first put my lenses in in the morning. When I am driving to work my eyes continuously water and the pain from bright sunlight is intolerable. Hayfever is making it worse. After a few hours they seem to calm down although exposure to bright light makes them run again.

I don't currently use eye drops. Is there anything I could use to make the first few hours of wear more comfortable?
thanks
Emma

Emma

I wonder whether you may be encountering the effects of dry eye? I think this is very common with contact lens wearers; I use clinitas soothe before inserting my lens.

All the best

Andrew
