Perhaps you have an infection in your eye? I'd stop wearing my lenses and go to see a doctor if my eyes were red.
All the best

Re: red eyes
DO the lenses hurt? - or do your eyes feel uncomfortable while you are wearing them?
Does the redness wear off when you take the lenses out? - quickly? eventually?
It could be your eyes just don't quite agree with the "textbook" rules as to what is a good fit.
It may be they just don't think there is enough oxygen getting to them because the lens is keeping the air off the surface.
Is it possible you have developed an allergy to the contact lens solutions? - some people do find they get on better with some brands than with others.
If your eye feels uncomfortable while you wear the lens, then your eye isn't too happy about having it there, whatever the optician says about how well it fits - whether that is fit, solution allergy, dirt or scratchon the lens surface, eyelash underneath....
If it's fine for a while, and then starts to get red and sore, you're trying to wear the lens too long. Try taking it out, cleaning it, resting your eye and trying again later. SOme people find lubricating eye drops are helpful here.
I presume you have already ruled out the possibility the red eyes are due to excessive whisky intake over the festive season!

Re: red eyes
Sounds like over wearing lenses to me. This can be helped with eye drops to help stop the eyes drying out and wearing one lens at a time. This takes time to get used to but worth it for the amount of time you can manage to see.

Each of us is unique, the best course of action is to speak with your eye care practitioner who will be able to look at your eyes and give more accurate advise.
If your eyes are still giving course for concern pay a visit to eye casualty who should be able to give the same advice.

Re: red eyes
I need to bump this because its getting really embarrassing now. I took out my lenses all day because I knew i was going out clubbing in the night. So I put them in before i went out and I STILL got red eyes even though I haven't been wearing them all day!? i use clinitas eye drops aswell
I'm wondering if there are any other causes of this? I'm quite desperate for a solution.
