That would be so nice to "make it better". Im hopefully going for a consultation next week to see if im a good candidate for c3r...then perhaps a touch up of prk since i ve already had prk at 25(31 now) To make my vision 20/20 uncorrected instead of 20/35 uncorrected. I would sure LOVE to get rid of this dam ghosting.
Since the onset of KC, ive turned into a huge believer of ghosts.

Hi everyone,
I have had (limited topography guided) prk + cxl. I am quite satisfied with the result until now. I had my last appointment two weeks ago and KC is stable after one year. HOWEVER what I would like to say is that I don't know whether it is safe to combine prk with cxl because it does makes your cornea thinner and there is no way to know how it will progress after 10 years. Keratocop, imho I would perform this combination if it was necessary and this was the case for me. I didn't have a satisfactory vision WITH lenses, that is the reason I made this decision. There are no long term results for the first cxl, so I don't know if a second one would be safe.

Hey lars,
I think its a risk because the c3r is so new that no one knows if it works long term. There speculating that since the c3r is suppossed to stabilize the cornea then it would be ok to do the prk with no worries of it advancing. couple questions, What is your vision now? is it 20/20? and did the prk remove the ghosting if you had any?

Yes, there might be problems with the UVA. As you say cxl is supposed to do this but after some years KC may progress again. My prk is not a standard one. It is limited & topography guided which means that 50μm of tissue are removed at most because of our thin corneas. The scope of this is to make the cornea more regular so that lenses can be fitted easier and it does not intend to remove all of the vision problems. My vision is not 20/20. I don't know the exact correspondance but it is about 80% with glasses now. My case was more advanced than yours ofcourse, there are some more encouraging results with others that you can find on another forum.
