Hi
I just wondered if there is anyone out there who wears sclerals and has had a baby before? I have just found out i am pregnant and am already a bit concerned about how i am going to deal with the putting in of my sclerals once i get a bit bigger!
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!#
Thank you
Kirsty

Hi kirsty im not pregnant but i wear sclerals too! Depending on if you can tolerate standing on your feet while you put them in you could put them in standing up, i do this sometimes if im out or in a rush! It would help if the surface you put your eye stuff on was higher too so you wouldnt have to lean forward so much and you would also save your back!
just an idea....I hope this can help in some way
and congratulations!

I dont wear sclerals (i wear Synergise - which i think are classed as hybrids) nor am i pregnant but i can only put my contacts in standing up using the ironing board as a table for the mirror (yep very difficult when i go away for weekends - especially camping) so this may be an option for later pregnancy if you can tolerate standing and putting your lenses in.

Re: Sclerals and Pregnancy
Never been pregnant, but i have worn sclerals for over 33 years.
First, congratulations, and best wishes for a trouble-free pregnancy, birth and childhood for the little one.
I'm guessing you're wondering about how to put a scleral in when you have to bend right over to keep your face downa nd the scleral full of saline without squashing the little chap? - can only suggest experimenting. I aways put my lenses in standing up, which squashes my tum a bit less. I'm normally doing it over the ktchen sink, sometimes an office desk (!). I wonder if it's possible to try balancing on your elbows on the edge of the table/draining board/something to avoid doubling up so much? hmmm, must try it....
I've also heard rumours that the hormonal changes in pregnancy can affect lens tolerance. No practical experience, but I think people's experiences vary.
GOod luck with it all, and do keep us posted.
