Hi all
I have been so bad at writing updates.
This is a good thing for me as it means that i have not needed to have a good old winge about the transplant.

So far things are going perfectly. i am 5 months post op and it is settling down nicely, i rarely feel anything wrong with my eye at all and most of the time i dont think about it (except for the vision being less than good)
My transplanted vision uncorrected is the top line of the snellen chart, maybe the second on a good day :D
Corrected with a pinhole i am able to read at 20:20 which is awesome  . (i am 16:9 with sclerals in my un-transplanted eye)
My stitches have healed well although i did lose one about 3 weeks post op. the edges of the graft are lining up well and the stitches are beginning to look looser.
My last checkup saw me reducing my dexamethasone down to 3 a day, 1 more month and i will be down to 2. The Doc has also told me that when i get to 9 months they will look at how best to correct my vision, i think he means glasses or contacts as it seems much too early to think about laser, although i really do want that done eventually (in for a penny in for a pound i say!!!)
I am doing ok at work, the computer still gives me a little eye strain, but i have recently started using a second screen with a free alternative of zoomtext on it which is helping loads. I also began doing excercise again last weekend with my first trip on my rollerblades since the op (i have been taking it rediculously easy to allow my eye to heal as good as possible)
I have some recent pictures that i will try to post somewhere. Anna got me a 10 - 200x USB magnifier so i can take a few up-close pics with that.

I will try to be a bit better at keeping updates, thank you all for being interested in my progress.
All of your support and advice has been invaluable over the past year.

Hi all.

Just a quick update.

I have begun forgetting that i have a graft in... which is good, apart from the times i forget the dexamethasone drops. i am currently at 2 drops a day.

I have my 7 month checkup on monday and i am hoping that they may think about getting glasses for me sooner than 9 months, in my last checkup with my contact lens specialist (for my other KC eye), he did a topography and attempted to correct the vision with the 'special' opticians glasses set "does it look better like this.....or like this?" and:
1. My astigmatism gas settled and is quite regular (at 120 degrees) :D
2. I was able to see better in my grafted eye with glasses than with my KC eye with a scleral lens in. :D
3. My grafted cornea thickness is below average at 450um
I think this is pretty good news all round :D .
They are yet to look at playing around with the stitches to regulate the shape a bit, i havnt been told about any plans do do so....... can anyone give me some of thier experience of this? when does it happen? etc...

All the best to everyone

Tom
