iZon eyeglass lenses

Postby lars » Sun 09 Nov 2008 2:15 pm

Hi everybody.

I am thinking of getting these wavefront lenses. I found a post here but not any further information.

So, has anybody tried or heard anything about these glasses? I am from Greece and the nearest optometrist providing these is in Italy, so I am wondering whether it is worth the trip.
I am more concerned about my night vision, so any advice would be really helpful.

Thank you in advance.

Sorry Lars, can't help. I do wonder why there are no optometrists dispensing these lenses in your own jurisdiction?

Thanx for answering Andrew. Well, I suppose that the machine used for the topographies is quite expensive and maybe
no optometrist takes the risk of buying one.
I found that there are only 4 dealers in Europe providing the lenses according to the company:

The one listed for the UK on the iZon website is not an opticians unfortunately, its "a supplier of opthalmic products to the opthalmic care industry", basically a wholesaler. However I have found one opticians in the UK offering these lenses in Aberdeen.

I e-mailed them about a fortnight ago now after having read something about these lenses on one of the CXL threads on here, Lars I think it was probably you who mentioned it come to think of it, I still haven't heard anything back from them however so it looks like it'll have to be a phone call.

Their website is:

If I have any success in getting any info out of them I'll stick it up here.

Take care everyone

Jez.

Thank you for your answer Jeremy. I also discovered that they are wholesalers but I'm not sure whether they provide these aberrometer machines outside their country and I haven't found anything about these lenses here in Greece.

Waiting for your news,
Lars

Hi Guys & Gals (I'm still lurking!)

I am currently using the "veni-vici" Wavefront soft contact lenses

www.veni-vidi.co.uk/p16.html

which are helping me to a degree (although I don't actually have KC - long story...) - they might help someone with mild KC, so worth a try if appropriate. They are certainly much better than standard soft lenses.
My current optom has also talked about some new glasses with Zeiss lenses which are made following "wavefront" abberometry but I am waiting for further info on these. I'll keep you posted idc.

Regards to anyone who knows me!

Thank you Pat for this information.

I think that your optom is talking about these lenses but I'm not 100% sure about this.

If you have any news on this, please leave a post here.

Thanks,

Lars
