White part of eye Red

Postby Andy K » Tue 17 Apr 2007 6:50 am

Yesterday evening and this morning, the white corner of one eye is red and sore.

I may have got some dirt in it yesterday from an air vent.

Any idea what I should do ?

Go to the hospital and have it checked. if it is an infection they will give you some eye drops and it will go away. If it is an infection and you do nothing, then it will get worse.

Let us know how you get on.

Andy,

Hey there and welcome to the site!

How is it today? As Andrew said I would go and get it checked out if it is still red. It could have been dust or something which scraped your eye, this will heal but you should go and get it looked at.

Do you wear lenses? Sometimes we can scratch our eye with these which will make it red.

Hoping you get it sorted soon!

Thanks for the welcome.

I think it's getting better. It's not so red and not so sore now.

I didn't wear my lenses today, but my glasses and hence I can't see alot today. Hopefully my vision will be a bit better tommorrow and may start wearing the lenses again later in the week.

Andy,

From previous experience, trying not to teach you to suck eggs but its worthwhile getting to the eye a&e department of your local hospital - especially if you are a lens wearer.

I had similar problems with red eyes earlier in the year and if nothing else, the hospital can do lots of tests and put your mind at rest.

Somebody complimented me on my driving yesterday - they left a note on my windscreen "Parking Fine" which was nice.
KC managed with softperm lens in left eye, Intacs (2/11/07) in right eye
