Yes Jay....
The regional thing is interesting as KC often occurs in clusters. Plus, the fact someone has been refused laser surgery does not necessarily mean they turn up at a hospital department. I have also noticed that there are more newbies on here that found they had KC through laser surgery assessment.
Exchange of information can be very beneficial!

i was just browsing though your list and noticed that there were no entries for Scotland. I hope nobody thinks that the
Northern Kingdom is without optometrists who are able to fit KC eyes.
We had a specialist (High Street) optometrist from Edimnburgh who came to speak a couple of years ago to the Scottish Group' then there are the Ho0spital clinics at RAH in Paisley, Gartnavel etc in Glasgow. I had my first lenss fitted by a High Street Optometrist in Aberdeen who worked under contract for the hospital.

Andrew...
we were until the other day without any from Wales either! I have been trying to target those areas and I am glad to say have had one enquiry from a a Scot.. just waiting for him to get back to me with details.
If you can contact any of your Scottish ones then please do so! Meanwhile I am doing my best to alert Scottish optoms of the list!

Just a suggestion, do you think it would be better to organise the list of available optoms in area groups eg Northen England, Southern England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland? It would make things easier when looking for the nearest practitioner as many people don't know which county they are in (especially in Wales where they keep changing!)

If you were going to organize them by Region, then Scotland, while having a smaller population than England, is made up of more discrete regions with transport not always available to link people.
I'd suggest:
Northern Isles
Western Isles
Inverness and the North
The North East
The West Highlands
The Central Belt
The Borders
The South West.

Debbie,
You can recommend an optometrist on the members list in the members only section. If you email John he will send you the password if you do not already have it. It is noted in the newsletters.
Optometrists who have an interest in KC can add themselves to the optometrist list which is run by Lynn White. This list is public and is not recommended by patients. It is useful for new members who are looking for an optometrist. You can pass this website onto your optometrist if you think they would like to be included!
Hoping that helps!
