Hello everyone.
I have been piggy-backing for the last 3 years to deal with my KC. Night time has always been a challenge because my eyes seem to produce a lot of mucus the later it gets. It's really frustrating, and compounded by dryness in the eyes at night... I have to blink five times and push my contacts around under my eyelid to be able to see clearly again. Do others have the same problem? Any solutions?

I too used to have the same problem with a lot of mucus between the 2 lenses the problem was solved with changing from 2 week lenses to one day disposable ones

Very interesting, Malcolm. I'll have to look into that. Andrew, you're probably right, too. I haven't seen my doctor in a year and a half - I've been working in Afghanistan where there are no ophthalmologists. But I'm back in the States now, so I'll visit a doctor as soon as I have insurance. Thanks!

Michael,
Hello there and welcome to the forum! Sorry that i haven't had a chance to reply yet but will now!!
I piggy back with a RGP (Profile lens) and a monthly soft lens (Focus Night and Day). I was told that it needs to be monthly because my eyes are too dry for daily or weekly ones and there is a risk of oxygen transmission through to my eye.
I do often find later in the day that my lenses do get foggy and i need to take them out, clean them and put them back in my eye. I don't get any discharge or anything though, just blurring to my vision and i know that the lenses need cleaning. I used to just rinse my RGP but have found that they both need to be cleaned really as i can see much better then! I do manage over 15 hours wear time if i use enough eye drops and Systane twice a day before i put lenses in.
Hoping that you can work this out soon. It does sound as if you might need different soft lenses to piggy back with?
Take care, Sweet X x X
