Hi Both my dad and I have KC and are both being treated at the Royal in Liverpool (St Pauls Eye hospital). I have had no problmes getting my contact lenses fitted here however my dad who used to have his fitte by Mr Nelson who was until he retired working from Brombrough Eye Works hasn't been so fortuanate. They say they are unable to fit a lens due to the severity of his KC. He has recently had a graft in one eye but is looking to find an alternative contact lens specialist in the North west to fit one for the other eye as it has been a few years since his last fitting. I would be very grateful if anyone could recomend agood contact lens specialist he lives in North Wales but any within the Liverpool ish are would be great.

Just tried the link and unfortnatly it does not appear to work at the moment.
If you get in touch with Anneklepacz@aol.com (Support Group Chair Person) or scaryscouseis@hotmail.co.uk (Jane (Manchester Group Co-ordinator)) or on 0161-736 1167; she might know of someone who can help.

Hallo Joanne,
I grew up in Bromborough, and used to get contact lenses fitted by Mr Nelson.
But I had to go to see him in Hamilton Square in those days. What is Bromborough Eye Works?
I would certainly ahve recommended you to Keith Nelson - until you said he'd retired. Well, I hope he has a happy retirement.
Now, why does it not surprise me that he was fitting lenses for your dad when the hospital say it's impossible??!
I presume these were sclerals? Are St Paul's trying sclerals, or are they only saying that corneal lenses are impossible?
Are Bromborough Eye Works (or even RKN himself, if BEW get a desperate-enough entreaty to ask him) able to suggest anyone? - or was it them that sent your dad to SPEH in the first place?
Good luck with it.
Rosemary

Hi thanks for your help My dad had been sing RKN for many a year I believe he was one of his first patients. Brombrough eye works is basically an optiticians in Brombrough that he was working one day a week out of just before he retired. My Dad was being treated in Bangor Hospital as was I but I transfered to Liverpool while at university and it was while mentioning to the specialist there that my dad also has KC and we weren't very happy with the treatment he was receiving that he offered to take him on as a patient that was nearly a year ago now. He stoped wearing scleral lenses a good few years ago and it is the corneal lenses that he has been wearing. The reason I asked the forum was a year ago I noticed a post about someone in Southport who had also ben to mr Nelson and they said they knew someone equally good in the area now he had retired. But thank you very much for all your help I will pass on the email addresses and phoine number to my dad.
