Samba, if you want something that looks cool and gives a high degree of blackout I'd recommend Raybans, you can get them from opticians but expect to pay about £100+

Andrew,
I bought some of the UV shades you recomended from the RNIB. I have now gone back to work after 6 months and they are a godsend first thing in the morning and in the evening, best £17 I have spent in a long time :D

David,

No special place for sunglasses if you have KC, but I would recomend going to the opticians and trying a variety of tints and finding which one suits you best.

Normal situations now, a pale green tint is fine, but days like today then a very dark smoked tint is needed.

The best I found were actually a tinted set of my works safety glasses which wrap round but allow you to still see through the corner of your eye as the side shield is tinted the same as the lenses. These also keep out the wind and pretty much all the dust which really helps lens comfort.

David

I get mine from the RNIB. one little health warning is that they are maybe a bit on the granny's slpppers side of the fashion spectrum. I don't mind because they keep my eyes comfortable even in bright light.

I got my new pair in NEXT. About £14.00 or so.

Can't comment on the UV...ness of them, but they are blue mirrored affairs which wrap round really well. They were fantastic on holiday, especially on the beach keeping all the sand out etc.

When you put them on the world goes sort of orangey...I find it most soothing.

They are about the most fashionable things I own and I like to think they make me look cool....well as cool as I can look that is!
