synergy lenses from america

Postby salim adam » Tue 23 May 2006 9:42 pm

hi all members, well im new user on here just started this week .i would like to mention to you that i suffer from KC now for nearly 20yrs ive gone through GP lenses and now trying to tolorate soft lenses.the problem arises when i need to replace my right softlens unfortunately the manufacturer just can not replicate my right lens therefore i have problems wearing my right lens on the other hand the left lens is alway replicated without any problems. now last october my optician was so excited about the seminar they attended.they were shown this new synergy lens from america apparently its ment to be the cure for KC patientsas as far as my optomotristis is concern as he wears contact lenses when he plays squash which he hates doing as theyre not very comfortable for him.and in this seminar they used him to try these synergy lens and he felt that these are the most comfortable lenses hes come across and that hes convinsed that these are the ones for me.now they meant to arrive in uk early in 2006 after they have been approved from americas government which i belive now they have been yet there is still no sign of them.is there anybody that knows or heared anything about these so called synergy lenses plz let me know

Salim

Welcome to the forum!

Do you know who makes the lens? and also what type of material it is?

I had heard of some variation of Synergy Len but that was some two years ago......but I cant for the life of me find the website!! maybe this was it?...I dont know

But as always, I would be very scepticle of the claims that you have been told about........its very hard to get a "one lens fits all" in the world of KC

Sorry, couldnt be of more help

Jay

Very doubtful the lenses are a 'CURE'. It would be nice to have a one lens fits all.

As far as I am concerned a cure is something that intitilly stops the condition and then goes to reverse it so you require no tretamnet thereafter.

This lens firstly sounds like a big sales pitch but that is because of the scant information available. Secondly it is only another management techneque adn if it has been on trial for a few years, still impossible to make claims it will last 'as if it's a cure'.
