Lenses falling out
I am now struggling with a not quite right complex varifocal glasses prescription but when I was trying 'normal' rgb's (the little ones) I was trying to work up the wear time, yes lateish at night not quite tenish I was bracing myself for taking them out both lenses did pop straight out one landed kitchen worktop, the other I heard hit the lino, my dog who I didn't realise was close enough (she has a line she's not allowed to cross - well she's learnt not to - accidents with hot cups of tea etc.) licked up the lens.
I had to go back to (Royal) Mancy Eye Hosp and use the classic 'my dog ate it line.....'
So naturally found this more embarrassing than the actual event of em popping out together (I think I yawned - and had dry eyes and depending on the caffiene intake I have a slight twitch all combined). But then there were no witnesses - mind I don't get embarrased easily by things I have no control over.
Course the two hours it took me to get from the kitchen to the bedroom after trying to find the lens by fingertip searches, then try to sleep afterwards....
My father had a glass eye and once he was just walking home and the twitch was strong enough to propel it outwards almost arms length, but he managed to catch it, and after a few times he knew where to catch it, but they are like schleral lenses painted so presumably being heavier and not clear he had a better chance of catching it....
Try not to let them dry out, but don't get too embarrassed, just deal with it quickly, if anyone laughs I hope they apologise afterwards... but the human condition tends to laugh (probably nervously) in situations they shouldn't. Anyway it could be worse you found your lenses.
