Re: When to Start Wearing Contact Lenses?

Alastair

My advice would be dont take risks if you have to.

Only wear contact lenses when g;lasses fail to give you the vision you need especially if you have "dry eyes"

Maybe its worth you considering CXL treatment to stabilise the condition and prevent further progression.

Re: KC Group conference in Manchester

Anne I had a consultation with Mr Brahma yesterday at MREH. He mentioned the conference to me and indicated that the take up on tickets was low - how many people have booked to date? Will the event be professionally audio visually recorded and put on a dvd? These dvds could then be sold at a reasona...

Re: Kerasoft IC too fragile?

Thanks Chris for your excellent response. You confirm what I suspected - why these lenses are not widely available on the NHS - cost/short life expectancy. Your point about training for the contact lens fitters concerning new lenses imo is a very valid point. Like all public sector services sadly it...

Re: Kerasoft IC too fragile?

Are the kerasoft IC lenses available at all NHS Hospital contact lens clinics?

How long do they last?

How much are they to purchase (a) privately and (b) on the NHS

Re: Should you try all contact lenses before surgery?

Thanks Lia and everyone for feedback.

If I do go ahead and have the op on the 11 June I'm hoping I'll still be able to attend the Groups conference in Manchester on the 15 June if possible - so maybe meet up there. :D

Re: Should you try all contact lenses before surgery?

Anne Thanks for your comments. Can KC progress after a graft? Is there anywhere in the UK where you are going to get the opportunity of trying out all the different makes/types of lenses available? I suspect the NHS has a very limited range when it comes to contact lenses just like with NHS specs? O...
