Re: Dry eyes and contact solution
Hello. A great m any of us with Keratoconus also have dry eye. I use Clinitas Soothe (it has the advantage of being preservative-free, and this is important because the preservatives in eye drops can actually cause dry eye). I store my lenses in Allergen Total.

Re: Declaring keratoconus to the DVLA
Hi again, I can see that you are really worried about this. In your place, I'd make an appointment to see my optometrist (hospital or high street). I'd print off the form from the DVLA and go through the issues you have raised. If your corrected sight is good enough for you to drive then there is no...

Re: Declaring keratoconus to the DVLA
If you have double vision, then you have to answer 'yes' to that question. Not everybody with KC has this effect. If you are in any doubt about this, then consult your eye specialist (optometrist or ophthalmologist). It may be that you have double vision when not wearing lenses, but have good vision...

Re: Declaring keratoconus to the DVLA
If you have double vision, then you should answer 'yes' to diplopia. I can't think of any reason why you wouldn't mention having had Crosslinking on your report to the DVLA. They will want to have permission to confer with your ophthalmologist and that is one of the things that they would discover. ...

Re: Cornea transplant another other options?
Hello VW, welcome to the forum. I am afraid that if your cornea is scarred then a transplant may be the only option. Scarring of the cornea can result from a number of things, but if the scar is in your field of vision and if it penetrates into the stroma of the cornea then the blur it creates may n...

Re: dozens of steps forward, one step back?
Today's Clinic: The inflammation on my right graft has disappeared so now I am weaning my eye off steroids. One per day for two weeks then one every other day. IOP is back within the normal ranger (16 in each eye). I go back in three months and have an optometry clinic (where the inflammation was fi...

Re: Post Graft exercise
Hello; I am afraid that I, like Anne, can't answer the question "how much is too much?". I think that you re best to be guided by your ophthalmologist. Every good wish.

Anne
I think that other medication I was taking at the time may have 'potentiated' the steroids. Actually, I was taking them for over four years so I figure that counts as prolonged use, but I also understand that it is rare for people using topic steroids to have this sort of side effect.

Re: dozens of steps forward, one step back?
Anne,
It is quite well documented. The steroids most commonly associated with Diabetes are Dexamethasone and Prednisalone.
Not to worry; we'll soldier on.
@Pauly
Thank you.
